We like to ate clear vegetable soup like this with rice and sambal. Hmmmm lecker!

And do not forget tempeh. Indonesian known to be the biggest tempeh eater in the world hahahaha. And Tempeh come from Indonesia , Java Island.

Indonesian people love to eat spicy food, yes it’s true. There is no day without sambal (chili condiments).

Breakfast with chili,  lunch, even the dinner was not fit if no chili.

We have a thousand kinds of sambal, example sambal terasi, sambal matah, sampal petis, ssambal kecap, sambal kencur, sambal tomat, and many more types of sambal in Indonesia.

The simple everyday menu the Indonesian people have for breakfast example is like fried rice, fried noodles or porridge. Of course do not forget there is always with sambal.

Lunch menu for example, rice with fried tempeh, sambal and salad.

Dinner menu for example, rice with fish, soups and sambal!.

Why in each menu there is always rice and sambal?

First, rice is the staple food of Indonesia. There is a saying that “we are not full if not yet eat rice”.

Sambal? .

Sambal function as an appetite enhancer, with spicy chili stinging taste, then that person will adding the rice again and again. And of course, the satisfaction will be be seen when you sweating and eating with voraciously.
Eating with voraciously is identical with healthy people in Indonesia.

Now that’s how to eating a la Indonesian.
Oh one more thing you should not forget, eating a la Indonesian must  be by hand so that you really feel the pleasure of eating the traditional Indonesian style, of course hands should be washed first.

Recipe Sambal Petis
Ingredients:
Petis paste »» 1 tablespoon
Bird eyes Chilli »» 5 pieces
Large red chilli »» 1 piece
Garlic »» 1 clove
Peanut fried »» 1 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Sweet Soy Sauce »» 1 tablespoon
Brown Sugar »» Moderation
Boiled water »» moderation

1 pc lemon

How to make  paste :

Grind  chilies, garlic and salt, add the brown sugar and grind back until smooth
Enter a peanut, little by little and grind again.
Last enter shrimp paste, mix with a coupled water until consistency obtained in accordance with the wishes
Add sweet soy sauce  and squeezed lemon juice , ready to be served.

Come enjoy your meal then.
